Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Ionian' and proceeded to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, 2 March 1915; disembarked Alexandria from HMT 'Grampian', 4 January 1916 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Found guilty of being absent from parade, 6 January 1916: awarded 7 days' confinement to barracks.

Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance, 20 February 1916 (conjunctivitis); transferred to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, Serapeum, 20 February 1916; discharged to duty, 25 February 1916; taken on strength of 3rd Machine Gun Company, Serapeum, 13 March 1916.
