Military Medal 'During the operation at HERLEVILLE, East of AMIENS, on the 17th August, 1918, this man gave great assistance and displayed fine courage in carrying up ammunition. The enemy put down a very strong barrage in the rear and Private HARVEY went through this barrage several times for bombs, keeping the front line well supplied. The assistance that he gave to the bombers was invaluable and greatly assisted in the final success of the operation. After ensuring that sufficient ammunition was to hand, he went forward along a sap leading off the front line and bombed the enemy, enabling the men in rear to establish a Block. He displayed great courage and his initiative and dash set a fine example to the rest of the men.'
