Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Demosthenes', 22 December 1916.

Admitted to hospital at sea, 2 February 1917; discharged to duty, 8 February 1917; disembarked Plymouth, England, 3 March 1917; marched into No 2 Camp, Parkhouse, 4 March 1917; marched into No 4 Command Depot, Wareham, 15 March 1917. Transferred to 16th Field Ambulance, 19 March 1917; moved out from depot, 22 September 1917; marched into Australian Medical Corps Training Depot, Fovant, 23 September 1917. Proceeded to France through Southampton, 8 October 1917; marched into Australian General Base Depot, Rouelles, 11 October 1917; moved into the field, 15 October 1917; taken on strength of 14th Field Ambulance, 18 October 1918; proceeded on leave to the United Kingdom, 18 September 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 9 October 1918; proceeded on leave to the United Kingdom, 9 December 1918. "Admitted to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 8 January 1919 (enteritis); discharged on furlough, 11 January 1919. Taken on strength of Administration Headquarters, London, 13 January 1919. Transferred to 9th Bn for demobilisation only, 18 July 1919; attached to 14th Field Ambulance, 30 December 1918; granted leave whilst awaiting return to Australia, 30 December 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Bahia Castillo', 17 April 1920; disembarked Sydney, 21 June 1920, and then proceeded overland to 1st Military District. Discharged Brisbane, 30 August 1920.
