Wounded in action, Fromelles, 20 July 1916 (gun shot wound, face: slight), and admitted to 1st Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to 13th General Hospital, Boulogne, 22 July 1916; to England, 22 July 1916, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 23 July 1916; transferred to Red Cross Hospital, Esher, 15 September 1916; discharged from 3rd London General Hospital to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 10 October 1916.
