Embarked Sydney on HMAT ‘Ayrshire’, 24 January 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 12 April 1917; marched into 3rd Training Bn, 12 April 1917; marched into 1st Training Bn, Sutton Veny, 8 November 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France through Southampton, 18 December 1917; marched into 3rd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Rouelles, 19 December 1917; moved into the field, 20 December 1917; taken on strength, 41st Bn, 24 December 1917.

Wounded in action, and admitted to 11th Australian Field Ambulance, 26 May 1918, and transferred to 49th Casualty Clearing Station (gas attack); to No 2 Stationary Hospital, Abbeville, 5 June 1918. Embarked on board HS ‘St.Andrew’ and proceeded to England for further treatment, 16 June 1918; admitted to Frensham Hill Military Hospital, 17 June 1918; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 2 July 1918; discharged on furlough, 12 July 1918. Marched into No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 15 July 1918; marched into Overseas Training Brigade, Longbridge Deverill, 21 September 1918.

Proceeded to France through Southampton, 17 October 1918; marched into Australian Infantry Base Depot, Rouelles, 18 October 1918; moved into the field, 19 October 1918; rejoined unit from hospital, 20 October 1918; moved into from the field, 26 April 1919. Proceeded to England, 28 April 1919; marched into No 3 Group, Codford, 27 April 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT ‘Themistocles’, 12 June 1919; disembarked Sydney, 10 August 1919. Discharged Brisbane, 19 September 1919.
