Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He led his platoon in a bombing attack with great dash and gallantry. He captured three trench mortars and a large quantity of ammunition. His courage and zeal largely contributed to the speedy capture of the remainder of the enemy trench.'
