Military Medal 'On 2nd April, 1917, during advance and attack on NOREUIL, this Non Commissioned Officer gallantly went forward alone under fire to cut through some barbed wire, and then signalled back to his Company that the way was clear. He later worked very hard reorganising his Platoon and consolidating the position gained thereby setting a fine example and rendering assistance worthy of special notice.'
