Military Medal 'During the attack near Bullec on 11th April 1917 he handled a party of stokes bomb carriers with great bravery. After handing over his bombs he reported to his company and all the N.C.O.s being killed or wounded, he set a splendid example by his coolness and cheerful bravery. At one time he with a small party was surrounded by Germans but he led a charge and broke through. His work throughout was most creditable.' |
