Military Medal 'On the 9th April, 1918, east of HEILLY near ALBERT during heavy enemy bombardment, this N.C.O. who was in charge of the linesmen of his Battalion on numerous occasions directed and their work with great skill and himself repaired wires under very intense fire. He showed an utter disregard for his own safety and set a splendid example of courage and devotion to duty throughout the day, and it was largely due to his work that communications were maintained.'
