War service: embarked from Melbourne, 6 March 1918; disembarked Suez, 4 April 1918; disembarked Southampton, 15 May 1918, and marched in to Australian Flying Corps Training Depot, Wendover. Marched out to 7th Training Squadron, 14 June 1918. Granted leave with pay and subsistence to study stock breeding at H.S. Bennett, Ludswell, Salisbury. Leave extended, 20 June to 19 July 1919, to attend London School of Economics. Detached to War Graves Service, London and France, 1 September 1919. Proceeded overseas to France, 9 September 1919. Commenced return to Australia on board 'Demosthenes', 22 July 1921; disembarked in Melbourne, 13 September 1921; discharged, 5 November 1921. Medal: British War Medal Also served as Supply Officer, Australian Army Service Corps, 1 October 1929-30 September 1933; and in World War II in Service Corps, Eastern Command, from 14 November 1939. |
