Military Medal 'At CHUIGNES, FRANCE, on 23rd August, 1918, for conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty. He was N.C.O. in charge of Lewis Gun Section, and during an advance to the capture of objective, he pushed his Gun forward under heavy fire, engaging and silencing enemy Guns. His daring initiative and control of his Section, are beyond praise. By his action he considerably lessened casualties, and helped largely in the complete success of the operation.'
