Military Medal 'During the attack near MONT ST. QUENTIN, North East of PERONNE, on 2nd September 1918, the enemy offered strong resistance in a line of trench close to the jumping off line. The attack was temporarily checked here, and Sergeant HILL with five men forced his way into this trench, and bombed along it, thus enabling the line to advanceQalso inflicting numerous casualties on the enemy.'
