He is unable to continue his training on account of pain in back ... also breathlessness. Judged unfit for general service.' Marched out to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 13 April 1918.

Commenced return to Australia from Plymouth on board HT 'Gaika', 12 May 1918; disembarked Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane (date not recorded); discharged (medically unfit), 7 August 1918.
