Joined his unit in France, and fought at Pozieres, Bullecourt, Bapaume etc. Wounded at Bullecourt, 11 April 1917; sent to hospital in England, recovered sufficiently after 3 months to be able to return to his unit. Killed in action, 29 March 1918. Buried in the Cottage Lodge Cemetery, 8.25 miles north of Albert, France. (details from mother)
