War service: Egypt, Palestine. Marched into Isolation Camp, Moascar, Egypt, 2 January 1917. Marched into 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, Moascar, 22 January 1917. Proceeded to unit, 26 January 1917; taken on strength of 1st Light Horse Regiment, in the field, 28 January 1917. Attached to Bde Headquarters as Batman of Lieutenant Hordern, Gharbi, 6 July 1917. Rejoined 1st Light Horse Regiment, 3 February 1918. Evacuated to hospital, 13 October 1918; admitted to No 47 Casualty Clearing Station, 13 October 1918 (malaria); transferred to No 24 Stationary Hospital, Kantara, 15 October 1918 (dangerously ill). Died, No 24 Stationary Hospital, 24 October 1918 (double pneumonia following malaria). Buried by Reverend Ison, Kantara Military Cemetery, 25 October 1918. Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal |
