Embarked Sydney, 3 May 1916; disembarked Egypt, 13 June 1916.

Embarked Egypt for England, 6 August 1916; taken on strength, 41st Bn, 23 September 1916.

Found guilty, 16 November 1916, of being absent without leave from midnight, 9 November, to 7 am, 12 November 1916: awarded loss of 8 days' pay; forfeited a total of 11 days' pay.

Proceeded overseas to France, 24 November 1916.

Wounded in action, 4 October 1917 (gun shot wound, hand and thigh), and admitted to 4th Australian Field Ambulance; transferred same day to Casualty Clearing Station; to 47th General Hospital, Le Treport, 5 October 1917; to 5th Stationary Hospital, 6 October 1917; to 3rd Australian Division Base Depot, Rouelles, 14 November 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 22 November 1917.

On leave to England, 19 January 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 8 February 1918.

Admitted to 10th Australian Field Ambulance, 11 June 1918 (influenza), and transferred same day to 5th Casualty Clearing Station; to 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 12 June 1918; to England, 19 June 1918, and admitted to Military Hospital, Woking, 28 June 1918 (infuenza: slight). Transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 11 July 1918; discharged on furlough, 15 July 1918, to report to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 29 July 1918.

Marched out from No 4 Command Depot to Overseas Training Brigade, Longridge Deverill, 22 October 1918; marched in to 9th Training Bn, Fovant, 8 November 1918.

Marched into Concentration Depot, Codford, 15 January 1919.

Commenced return to Australia from Liverpool on board HT 'Orca', 19 February 1919; disembarked Brisbane, 6 April 1919; discharged, Brisbane, 27 May 1919.
