'This N.C.O. is the Battalion Orderly Room Sergeant. His work has always been of the highest standard of efficiency. During the recent operations, which necessitated a considerable amount of work in the Battalion Orderly Room, he was untiring in his efforts, and worked till a late hour each night so as to keep all records of casualties well up to date. Thus assisting in no small degree the Battalion Headquarters Staff. He has at all times shown an untiring devotion to duty.'
