Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On two occasions when he was organizing the bringing up of urgent material to the line by night, the roads became blocked by heavy shelling and congestion of traffic. With great coolness and total disregard to personal danger he went forward and cleared the roads sufficiently to allow important stores to come forward. He set a fine example of coolness and courage.'
