'At BROODSEINDE Ridge Ypres, during operations from 1st. to 10th October, 1917 Cpl. BARR displayed untiring energy and fearless conduct throughout the whole of the operations. He carried out several patrols over most difficult ground and under heavy Enemy shell fire which resulted in getting information of a most valuable nature. The splendid example set by this N.C.O. is deserving of high recommendation.'
