Medals

Meritorious Service Medal

'For conspicuous good work and devotion to duty, during the period 16th/17th September to 31st December 1918/1st January 1919. This man has been carrying out the duties of a company sanitary man and in this respect leaves nothing to be desired. During the march to this area his duties were of an exceedingly tedious and trying nature, and the excellent sanitary conditions of his company were due to private Hourigan's energetic work. This man has been a fine old soldier and at JEANCOURT shone out for his good work in that operation. Thoroughly keen and reliable. Under all conditions he is a hard and conscientious worker.'
