Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in action near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917 in charge of signallers after their Officer had been wounded. They [HUGHES and 641 V.N. MOORE] established communication with the captured position under very heavy fire and repeatedly ran the gauntlet of the enemys barrage in maintaining it.'
