Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry during the counter-attack on the enemy positions near VILLERS-BRETONNEUX on 24th/25th April 1918. Whilst acting as a Company Runner he showed an absolute disregard for personal safety and a fine fearlessness in the way he crossed ground which was continually swept by bursts of enemy machine gun fire.'
