Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in action on the left flank of the attack on 54 at MOUQUET FARM on the 26th August, 1916, when he maintained communication between the isolated posts held by the 22nd Battalion and Headquarters 21st Battalion. This involved repeated movement across the open under very heavy fire. Private HULL brought in the body of his Commanding Officer, Captain H.E. SMITH in the face of continuous sniping fire. By his actions and valuable reports, Private HULL has proved himself to be a very fine type of soldier.'
