'For marked gallantry during the operations near Geneve on 7-8 October, 1918. He was responsible for a company getting on the jumping off tape in time for the attack, and guided them on to the tape under heavy fire. During the attack, he, at the head of a party, rushed an enemy post, killing several and wounding the remainder of the garrison.'
