'These men were both in the raiding party, Private Hutson as spare bomber and [2915] Private J.H. Ward as scout. Both of these men showed great dash and determination in the trench, especially in showing prisoners their way over the parapet. When Private McKenzie was hit on their parapet, Ward and Hutson between them got him through their wire and then with McKissock got him back to our trench.'
