Distinguished Service Order

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer led his squadron at full gallop against an enemy redoubt strongly manned with machine guns and rifles. Though the hostile file was very heavy, yet the charge was so vigorous and determined that the enemy was overrun and his fire silenced, thus enabling the regiment to continue the assault and complete the capture of the objective.'
