Military Medal 'During the operations near ZONNEBEKE east of YPRES from 2nd to 9th October, 1917, Sgt. JACKSON performed duties which were marked by courage and determination. When the portion of trench which his platoon was occupying was blown in, he, although wounded, organised parties to rebuild the defence positiion. Again when his Company was being relieved he guided the relieving troops through the darkness and enemy's barrage with the utmost skill. His work throughout set an excellent example to his platoon.'
