Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 27 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 3 April 1916. Admitted to 1st New Zealand Stationary Hospital, Amiens, 30 November 1916 (trench feet); transferred to England, 5 December 1916, and admitted same day to Exeter Hospital. Marched in to No 3 Command Depot, Weymouth, from hospital, 2 January 1917; marched in to No 4 Command Depot, Wareham, 13 January 1917; marched out to Infantry Draft Depot, Perham Downs, 1 March 1917.
