Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as battalion signalling officer. He established a forward station in an advanced position and maintained it throughout the operations under very heavy fire. He made a very useful reconnaissance into enemy territory, and also organized a party which brought back four wounded and six unwounded men.'
