Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Megantic' and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 6 August 1916; disembarked Southampton, 16 August 1916; marched into 13th Training Bn, 16 August 1916.

Admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, 9 October 1916 (pleurisy); taken on strength of 42nd Bn, 23 September 1916. Proceeded to France through Folkestone on SS 'Princess Clementine', 12 January 1917; marched into 3rd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 13 January 1917; moved into the field, 15 January 1917.

Admitted to 11th Australian Field Ambulance, 16 January 1917; transferred to Divisional Receiving Station, 16 January 1917; discharged to unit, 24 January 1917.
