Distinguished Service Order Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 173 Date: DSO and Bar 'At Montbrehain, east of Peronne, on 5th October, 1918, he led his battalion in the ery successful attack, and subsequent retention of the village of Montbrehain. To a large extent the great success of this operation was dur to the skilful leadership displayed by him and to his gallant demeanour in the earlier stages of the attack.'
