Military Medal 'On the night 29th/30th August, in vicinity of CLERY, he showed the utmost bravery and devotion to duty. A Loading Post having been established near CLERY he continued to run his car for seven trips, thought the Post and road were for half a mile West, under very heavy artillery bombardment. By his disregard for danger he was instrumental in evacuating quickly many wounded to a place of safety.'
