Found guilty at sea, 22 August 1916, of being absent from parade: forfeits 1 day's pay. Disembarked Plymouth, England, 18 October 1916; marched into 5th Training Battalion, Fovant, from 7th Training Bn, 7 November 1917; marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 5 December 1917.

Commenced return to Australia on HT 'Llanstephen Castle', 12 February 1918. Discharged as being medically unfit for service, Brisbane, 18 May 1918 (senility).
