Admitted to HMS 'Sicilia', 22 May 1915 (gun shot wound, thigh); transferred to No 1 Australian General Hospital, Egypt, 14 August 1915 (haemorrhoids); to Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 10 September 1915; to Details, Zeitoun, 24 September 1915; rejoined Regiment, Destroyer Hill, 25 October 1915.

Admitted to 1st Field Ambulance, 29 November 1915, and transferred to 13th Casualty Clearing Station, Mudros (haemorrhoids); to St Paul's Hospital, Malta, 4 December 1915 (piles); to All Saints' Convalescent Camp, Malta, 13 December 1915; embarked for Egypt, 4 January 1916; taken on strength, Overseas Base, Giza, 11 January 1916.
