'For continuous good work and devotion to duty as Orderly Room clerk since the formation of the Battalion in 1916. In the Line he has performed his duties at Battalion Headquarters with the same energy and zeal as in billets, and has proved himself a very capable and reliable N.C.O. at all times. No matter how trying the circumstances he acquitted himself well and rendered valuable service to the Battalion.'
