Military Medal 'This N.C.O. was No. 1 on a gun during the operations in connection with the 10th Infantry Brigade Raid on enemy trenches on the night of 26th/27th February, 1917. During the bombarding on this night, the Trench Mortars were subjected to a very heavy retaliation. Sergeant JONES was blown over by a shell, and wounded in the thigh, but he continued to shoot his gun and complete the task allotted to him. He was then passed through the Dressing Station.'
