Military Cross ''For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of his company during three days' operations. By his leadership he inspired all ranks, and frustrated every attempt of the enemy to approach his position.''
Source: CT 150 Date: Bar to Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at Baku on 14th September 1918. During an attack on a twon by a superior force of the enemy he was serving with two local battalions, which by his courage and example, he induced to put up a good fight. Later, when both commanding officers were killed he himself took command, and controlled the battalion with marked ability. This officer performed excellent work throughout the operations.'
