Military Medal 'At GUEUDECOURT for conspicuous gallantry and promptitude in attacking and surprising an enemy patrol on the morning of 21st November, 1916. Lance Corporal KEARNEY was in charge of a Sector of GOODWINS POST at the time and seeing this patrol approaching allowed them to get within a few feet and then dispersed them with bombs, killing three and wounding several others. On the following morning he killed another German who was approaching his post. A keen and brave fighter.'
