Commenced leave to Australia on SS 'Melusia', 18 February 1918; struck off strength of unit, 19 February 1918. Embarked Sydney on SS 'Melusia', 4 May 1918; disembarked Rabaul, 13 May 1918; taken on strength of unit, 14 May 1918; seconded for duty, Raluana, and struck off strength, 30 May 1918; attached to the Department of Survey and Roads, 1 June 1918; returned to regimental duty, 16 October 1918; struck off strength of Garrison, 19 October 1918. Found guilty at Rabaul, 3 December 1918, of being in unlawful possession of alcohol contrary to standing orders: awarded 7 days' confinement to barracks.
