Proceeded from Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 2 March 1915. Admitted to 3rd Field Ambulance, Gallipoli, 15 September 1915; rejoined unit, 24 September 1915. Disembarked Al;exandria, 27 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Found guilty, Tel el Kebir, 28 February 1916 of (1) resisting arrest; (2) insulting language to an officer; (3) striking escort: awarded 14 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Transferred to 13th Field Ambulance, 18 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 6 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 13 June 1916.

Found guilty, in the field, of being drunk and using obscene language in the hearing of French womenfolk: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2.
