War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Fremantle on 'Ormonde', 13 March 1918; disembarked Suez, 4 April 1918. Disembarked Southampton, 15 May 1918. Proceeded to France through Southampton, 14 August 1918; marched into Australian Infantry Base Depot, Havre, 16 August 1918; moved out to field, 19 August 1918; taken on strength of 51st Bn, 22 August 1918. Wounded in action, and admitted to 12th Australian Field Ambulance, 13 September 1918, and transferred to 5th Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train '22', 13 September 1918; admitted to 8th General Hospital, Rouen, 16 September 1918 (concussion, shrapnel wound). Proceeded to England on HS 'St. Patrick', 19 September 1918. Commenced return to Australia on HT 'Saxon', 11 December 1918; disembarked Fremantle 20 January 1919. Appointment terminated, Perth, 9 May 1919 (perforated lympanic membranes). Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal |
