Embarked to join M.E.F, Gallipoli operation, with 'A' company, 26th Bn, Alexandria, 4 September 1915; disembarked, Alexandria via Mudros, 9 January 1916.

Found Guilty, at Moascar, 6 March 1916, of being absent without leave from 800 am, 4 March 1916, to 12.00 am, 5 March 1916: awarded 144 hours Field Punishment No2; forfeited 2 days pay.

Found guilty, 16 March 1916, at Alexandria, of being absent from embarkation parade held on 15 March 1916: awarded 4 days Field Punishment No2.

Embarked Alexandria, 16 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 21March 1916. Proceeded to join B.E.F.

Found guilty, 4 April 1916, at Morbecque, of being absent without leave from 2.00 pm parade, 2 April 1916: awarded 72 hours Field Punishment.

Wounded in action, France, 5 August 1916; admitted to 4th Field Ambulance, France, 5 August 1916 (Gun shot wounds to face and hands). Transferred to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station via motor ambulance, 5 August 1916; to No 26 General Hospital, Etaples, 6 August 1916; to England via Hospital Ship 'Newhaven', Calais, 28 August 1916. Admitted to Military Hospital, West Bridgeport, 28 August 1916. Transferred to No 1 Auxiliary Hospital, 20 October 1916; discharged to Command Depot, Weymouth, 2 November 1916.

Proceeded overseas, on board S.S 'Princess Clementine', Folkstone, 24 January 1917; marched to 2nd Australian Division Base, Etaples, 25 January 1917. Proceeded to unit, 4 February 1917; rejoined unit, 5 February 1917.

Wounded in action, 2 March 1917. Admitted 5th Australian Field Ambulance, 2 March 1917 (High explosive wounds to arms and back). Transferred to 45th Casualty Clearing Station, 2 March 1917; transferred to St Johns Ambulance Brigade Hospital via Hospital Train, 5 March 1917. Died of wounds at 10.30 am, 10 March 1917.
