War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Fremantle on HMAT 'Militades', 12 February 1916. Transferred from 7th Training Bn to 51st Battalion, Serapheum, 2 April 1916. Found guilty, 10 September 1916, of making an improper remark to a non-commissioned officer: awarded 7 days' confinement to barracks. Embarked Alexandria on HS 'Ivernia' and proceeded to join British Expeditionary Force, 5 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 12 June 1916. Died of disease, 7 February 1917 (syncope).
