Military Medal ''For conspicuous gallantry in repeatedly crossing a heavy artillery barrage near FLERS on the night of 15th November, 1916. He did this in search of Sergeant LUSBY, who was missing and believed to be wounded, and was successful in guiding him back through the barrage. This soldieres gallantry is well shown by the fact that his platoon Commander had instructed the N.C.O.s not to take advantage of Private KENYON's willingness to volunteer for every dangerous duty.'
