Military Medal 'In the attack on MONTBREHAIN, north of ST. QUENTIN on morning of 5th October, 1918, his determination and coolness made his good work frequently conspicuous. he took up an exposed position on flank of an enemy machine gun post of 4 guns and by his clever rapid fire so disconcerted them that another party successfully charged them from the front. After gaining final objective he constantly exposed himself to close range fire collecting and carrying in the wounded.'
