Military Medal 'At MORLANCOURT, South West of ALBERT on night 28th/29th July 1918 he showed conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty. During the attack and capture of enemy system of trenches, this N.C.O. after the final objective had been reached, pushed forward his section and dug in an advanced post between the BRAY-CORBIE Road and an enemy Strong Post on the left. He did excellent work in leading his section, inflicting many casualties on the enemy, and when later, finding that his advanced posts withdrew to a position nearer, in front our new main line. He was the last man to leave the advanced post, and set a splendid example to the men of his command.'
