Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and extreme devotion to duty. During the operations of 18th September 1918, near Le Verquier, Sapper Kinchella, who was a linesman with the 12th A.I. Brigade forward party, continually went out under enemy machine gun and shell fire, to and from Battalion headquarters, helping to maintain lines which were repeatedly cut. It was largely owing to this soldiers untiring energy and gallantry, that almost uninterrupted communication was maintained, notwithstanding that three of his party had been wounded. His work was an inspiring example to his comrades.'
