Proceeded from Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 16 May 1915. Sick to hospital, Gallipoli, 21 October 1915; returned to duty, 25 October 1915 (no further details recorded).

Disembarked Alexandria, 26 December 1915; detached to School of Instruction, Heliopolis, 8 January 1916;rejoined unit, 29 January 1916.

Transferred to AIF School of Instruction, 29 April 1916, and promoted Corporal. Promoted Temporary Sergeant, 5 August 1916.

Admitted to hospital, Choubra (measles), and reverted to rank of Trooper, 20 March 1918; transferred to Convalescent Depot, Abbassia, 15 April 1918; discharged to unit, 17 April 1918, and rejoined Imperial School of Instruction, Zeitoun.
