Military Medal 'During operations of 24th August, 1918, near BRAY, for good leadership, great coolness and quick judgment in handling his Platoon. When other troops on the flank were forced back he was very successful in rallying them and getting them back to their positions under heavy fire. He then led his own Platoon forward under heavy machine gun fire and held on until the position was consolidated and reinforcements came up.'
