'Sergeant KIRFIELD has served with his Unit from February to September as orderly Room Sergeant and throughout that period proved of invaluable assistance to the H.Q.'s Staff and he Battalion. Through many changes of C.Os and Adjutants during the period, the responsibility of this NC..O increased and although a great part of the time moving from one place to another in many difference actions his work has always been carried out capably and thoroughly, reflecting great credit on himself. Recently during the difficult period of open warfare his work has been admirable.'
